THE HISTORY OF DEPARTMENT OF ONCOLOGY AND RADIOLOGY
At 11.12.1973, the USSR Ministry of Health issued an order for the number 983 on the establishment of the Department of Oncology and courses in all medical institutions of the USSR. The creation of the Department of Oncology at the structure of the medical institutes had its own premises, and it was due to the need.
Improvement of demographic situation in the country after the war, intense population growth, the need to deploy a network of cancer on a national scale, the development of scientific and social foundations of cancer prevention, deployment work for the early detection of cancer patients and the natural growth of cancer patients and the growing needs of oncology service set out to solve the organizers of Health task.
Of course, by this time by a number of regional departments of Oncology Institute of Postgraduate Medical, operating since 1938, by the decision of the People’s Commissariat (with the number 1178), whose main goal was to training and retraining of doctors oncology network could not cope with the task. A huge number of general health services, which are responsible for the early detection of cancer patients, had almost no idea of oncological alertness principles of prevention and early detection. Priority has been selected correctly – to organize the department of oncology at the medical school, the main objective of which provide students with 5-6 courses of theoretical and practical foundations of Oncology, instill in them the concept of oncological alertness and interest to the profession.
According to the order in early 1974 at the Tashkent State Medical Institute was organized by the Department of Oncology. The first head of the department at the suggestion of the rector of Tashkent State Medical Institute, Academician U.A Aripov was a young, energetic and very talented scientist, Professor N.K Murathodjaev. From the memories of N.K Murathodjaev in the book “My Life”. “For some reason I wanted to go in Obninsk, in the Institute of Medical Radiology, Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, where I sent the documents and held a competition for the post of head of the department of radioisotope diagnosis. Learning of this, first deputy minister of the first health prof. U.A Aripov, then Secretary of the Communist Party called me and categorically forbidden to leave the country. A few months later I was again causing U.A Aripov, but in the position of rector of Tashkent State Medical Institute and offers to lead the newly created Department of Oncology Institute. I accepted with great joy. But, unfortunately, the request of the rector of the placement department at the Research Institute of Oncology and Radiology (so-called current RCRC until 1978) remained unheeded Directorate RIOR where I almost worked 5 years as Deputy Director for Science and head of the laboratory radioisotope diagnosis. Then it was decided to place the chair in the Tashkent City Oncology Dispensary. And so, since the beginning of 1974, the Department of Oncology began its full life”.
Although there has been organized by the Department and placed in one of the major cancer institutions of the Republic, but he felt the deficit of the teaching staff to work in the department. In these early years scientific resources were sufficient rarity. But the staff RIOR, Tashkent, regional and municipal dispensaries firmly believed honesty, intelligence and scientific-pedagogical perspectivety of Nariman Kadyrovich. Too many employees with academic degrees and non-degree of the above institutions turned to him with a request for a job.
In his memoirs, Nariman Kadyrovich writes: “Once I was approached by a young, energetic and promising in the scientific sense the otolaryngologist Svetitsky Pavel. Later, he justified my hopes, becoming doctors, professors in their field. P.V Svetitsky currently working head of the Department head and neck tumors in the Rostov NRIO”.
Soon rates pedagogical department were staffed. To recruit highly qualified specialists and leading scholars in the field of oncology: MD Azizov I.A, MD Shek B.A, PhD Abdurahmanova N., MD N.S Yadgarova, MD Dadakhanov E.R, Mahmudov S.F and others. In addition to basic workers, to the department on the recommendation of Nariman Kadyrovich for pedagogical work were attracted reputable staff TashCOD concurrently. During the activity, he was responsible not only for professional development and research and teaching staff of the department level, but also staff the clinic.
Low professional level of employees, poor awareness of the latest developments in science, lack of standards, principles of diagnosis and treatment, forced him to organize lectures on topical issues among employees Oncology Center, and answer their many questions.
Due to such a warm relationship within 3-4 years, he managed to organize a single, dedicated and cohesive team, bound by employees of the department and clinic. The foundation was laid in the department TashCOD consisting of leading specialists and many practically remained loyal and worked at the department until the end of the activity.
In May 1977, in connection with the appointment of N.K Murathodjae as Director NIOR, Department of Oncology, where he was head, was transferred to the base of the Institute of Oncology and Radiology. Here were the best conditions for the educational process. Familiarization with the standard structure of the institute showed that the overall scientific potential and high graduated members of the department were significantly higher than all research institutes together. Practically in many offices except thoracic surgery, where they worked Ph.D. L.A Kachigarov and Urology MD Varshavskiy S.T were not high graduated employees. Research Institute on almost scientific potential is not much different from the existing large clinics. For professional development and research training in the clinical departments have been established in the scientific leaders of the clinical departments of high graduated assistants and associate professor of the department, as well as the leading scientists of the Institute.
From 9 clinical divisions existing in those years in 7 offices scientific leaders were Ph.D., assistants and associate professor of the department.
Associate Professor Azizov I.A was appointed scientific director of the Abdominal Department, Associate Professor Shek B.A was appointed scientific director of oncoproctology department, Assoc. Abdurahmanova N.K Department of Chemotherapy, M.D Tajibayeva Y.T (Hereinafter, MD, Professor) Department of Gynaecologic Oncology, M.D Khodjaev A.V (Hereinafter, MD, Professor), Department of Mammalogy, M.D Yadgarova N.S, Department of Head and Neck, M.D Zakirhodjaev U.D to the Department of Radiology.
We must pay tribute to that due to the devotion of his beloved profession and conscientious work during the 1980-90 years, thanks to the scientific atmosphere created by them were protected by several dozen candidates and more than a dozen doctoral theses. This refers to the number of doctoral thesis of N.V Svetitsky, T.T Muratova, R.S Madalihodjaeva, A.V Khodjaeva, Y.T Tajibayeva V.N Kuznetsov, V.P Tatar, A. Kutlimuratova, S.K Muhamedaminova, M.A Ghafoor-Akhunov, F.U Memetova, N.E Atakhanova, M.D Juraev, N.S Yuldasheva et al.
It is gratifying that 9 of these 14 professionals with academic degrees of Doctor of Medicine and to this day are employees of the Department of Oncology TMA and TIID.
Due to high professionalism, every manager in the attached clinical departments in addition to the scientific staff has prepared more than a dozen high-quality professional staff, most of whom work within the walls of RCRC, TashCOD, TashROD and many regional oncology clinics are students of these department staff of their students.
In 1990, in connection with the Tashkent State Medical Institute division into two separate I and II Tashkent State Medical Institute, Department of Oncology stayed existing training base for II Tashkent State Medical Institute, and for the I Tashkent State Medical Institute was organized course Oncology, who was a member of the Department of Radiology of the USSR AMS Academician D.N Mahsumov. Head of the course was appointed assistant professor of oncology. I.A Azizov, who worked for many years at the department and had a great scientific and practical and teaching experience. There also went ass. department, Ph.D. E.R Dadakhanov and Ph.D. Makhmudova M.T for the position of ass. the department attracted a lot of part-time experienced practitioners who have academic degrees.

In 1998, a post-doctoral N.E Atakhanova replaced in this post of assistant professor I.A Azizov in connection with the departure of the last retirement. At the department to enhance the educational work to attract new, young, energetic and promising staff. Soon staffed by personnel of the department. Worked in those years ass. Sh. Shukurullaev, M. Malikov, N. Gapparova, N. Zahirova and Ph.D. M.N Tillyashayhov. M. Malikov in 2007, N. Zahirova in 2010 were defended his thesis and became high graduated assistants department. M.N Tillyashayhov in 2008, successfully defended his doctoral thesis was the first Ph.D. in oncourology in our republic. Despite the fact that he was in 2011 appointed director of the Research Institute of Tuberculosis and Pulmonology, but concurrently he was an employee of the department.
In 2000, for the first time on the basis of an independent department of oncology I Tashkent State Medical Institute under the guidance of prof. N.E Atakhanova developed regulations for masters and undergraduates were taken first to the department. Since then, for the past 13 years under the Master’s prepared more than 20 staff who work in the Cancer Research Center, TashCOD, TashROD cancer and other institutions of the republic.
In 1998, at the Department of Oncology the II Tashkent State Medical Institute in connection with the 70th anniversary of academician M.K Murathodjaev he resigned as head of the department II Tashkent State Medical Institute, and for this position by his own recommendations was appointed MD, R.S Madalihodjaev previously worked as a scientific secretary RCRC.

Rustam Sultanovich headed the department until 2008. It should be noted that the period of its management for the department was not always smooth. Although he was a man prone to scientific works and inventions, but had no teaching experience, which sometimes have a negative impact on its activities. But the team was strong enough and many of them have had great scientific and practical and teaching experience. At that time, an assistant professor of the department worked Ph.D. N.S Yuldashev, defended in 2002 doctoral thesis, Ph.D. DA Pulatov (MD 2005), F.S Faiziev, MD R.V Khairutdinov.
In 2005, in connection with the restructuring and integration 1 and 2 into a single Tashkent Medical Academy Department of Oncology and radiology two institutions also merged into a single department of oncology and radiology.
